First edition first issue: 355 pages, black cloth boards with gold paper title labels on the upper cover and spine – the labels are slightly worn, book plate on front paste down end paper, publisher’s device on the verso of the title page, without the disclaimer notice, the fore-edge is uncut, lacking the dust jacket, a good copy.

A Farewell to Arms, the third novel by Ernest Hemingway, was published in 1929. Its depiction of the existential disillusionment of the “Lost Generation” echoes his early short stories and his first major novel, The Sun Also Rises (1926). A Farewell to Arms is particularly notable for its autobiographical elements. https://www.britannica.com/topic/A-Farewell-to-Arms-novel
