Two first editions of these early South African history books for use in schools.
Publisher's tan cloth bindings with Union Jacks on the front boards. The English edition has 210pp and the Dutch has 195pp. The Dutch edition was translated from the English by Miss M. Le Roux. Five maps of which the first is a fold-out.
The English edition is in good condition internally although the binding has some age-associated shelf wear.
The binding of the Dutch edition is tight and square. Internally the book is in very good condition with a few neat annotations in pencil on some of the pages.
