Small Quarto (255 x 185 mm). 312 pages. With 12 full page engravings, and some 200 pictorial initial letters, all engraved by Stephen Gooden.
The 12 full page engravings and their borders are protected by tissue guards. Only 525 copies were printed on handmade paper with top edges gilt. What is so special of this copy is that it is copy No.1.
It comes from the library of George Harrap who was the publisher, and it was the only copy that was bound in full morocco with gilt on the spine and on the front and back boards.
Apart from offsetting from the leather edges and slight foxing on the fore edge it is a very fine copy and it comes in a fine slip case and it is signed by Stephen Gooden, who made all the beautiful engravings.
