The author\'s premise was that there was a low level of knowledge in South Africa of the considerable interest of European countries and their populations in the causes and prosecution of the Anglo-Boer.
The (clipped) dustjacket is extensively chipped and torn and the lower half of the spine is missing. The beige cloth-board covers, with dark brown lettering to the panel and spine, are near-fine except for some rubbing at the head of the spine and a bump of one corner. The bindng is firm. The plain salmon endpapers are clean, with no ownership marks. However, many of the 224 pp of text are marked with a blue pencil, making this copy unattractve to all but students of the subject and the period.
