Original full-leather binding with later spine. Front panel detached.
Bruno (or Brian) Ryves was chaplain to Charles I and Charles II.
"The assaults upon Sir John Lucas's house, Wardour Castle, and other mansions are narrated, while a second part commences to deal with the violation of the cathedrals. The intention was to scare the reader with the brutality of parliamentary troopers". The third part in this collection "Querela Cantabrigiensis" was written by John Barwick and is often erroneously attributed to Ryves due to its frequent inclusion in this collection.
