Published by Edinburgh: William Blackwood & Sons., 1904. First edition. pp xxii, (ii) 408. Frontis and photographic illustrations as listed, plus maps. Bound in half leather binding with marbled boards. Slightly foxed within, particularly to prelims, as often with this item as the paper is rather thick and absorbent.

An attractive, interesting and well-illustrated account. The author begins in Turkey, then to Konya and down into Iran and Tehran. He then goes to Baku, Samarkand, Turkestan, Siberia, and finally to China and Peking.

Three chapters are dedicated to sport, in successful search of which he paid his visits to the Tian Shan and the Siberian Altai from Bokhara.
