The first edition of this uncommon title rebound (or recased) in green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and seemingly preserving the original pink endpapers. 8vo. 261 pages. The first 48 pages are browned and have staining (largely marginal) throughout. Pages 49 - 261 are not browned and are unstained - a strange anomaly particularly as another copy on offer online also mentions similar defects in the first 50 pages. The volume is otherwise tight and clean.

A scarce account of five years spent in the South African police force, which includes details of the frontier wars of the 1860's. SABIB Vol. 4, Page 796.
