Loosely inserted is an essay Landscapes of the Soul - 8 pages - written by Abbé Henri Breuil to Walter Battiss on the occasion of the prehistoric art exhibition opened by Professor C.Van Riet Lowe at the Gainsborough Galleries Johannesburg on 24 October 1944.

There is also loosely inserted a A5 size two tone drawing in beige and green signed by Walter Battiss - The Busman's God -the Mantis
