How it works

Register

274 pages, frontispiece portrait, 24 illustrations, original brown pictorial cloth lightly insect scarred and soiled, hinges weak, uncut edges, plates at pages 76 & 122 are frayed around the edges and have been reattached with tape, minor tears in the margins of some of the other plates, a fair copy.

Sampson chronicles the capture of the legendary Boer general in late 1914 - a capture which, as De Wet often complained, was effected not by men on horseback but by the motor-car!
