Publisher's pictorial hard cover with the City of Bulawayo's (Rhodesia) coat of arms. The motto reads Si Ye Pambili, which translates as Let Us Go Forward. The elephant crest is based on the royal seal of Lobengula, the last king of the Matabele and son of Mzilikazi (Path of Blood) who was a rebel lieutenant of Shaka Zulu. Mzilikazi fled from Natal and established his own kingdom near what is today the city of Bulawayo.

158pp. Contents clean. Book is square and binding is tight. Former owner's name on the half title and local contemporary bookseller's ticket (Philpott & Collins, Abercorn Street, Bulawayo) on the front paste down.

Contains numerous interesting contemporary adverts in text. Illustrations in profusion.

A vintage tourist guide to the entertainments, sports and social activities, drives and excursions, public services and institutions, hotels etc. that the city had to offer its visitors in the 1950's.
