". . . Topography, Geography, Natural Productions, &c, &c. Also the life, Travels, Adventures, and Discoveries of David Livingstone LL D, and the explorations of Barth, Speke and Grant, Baker, Schweinfurth, Moffat, Stanley, Cameron, and distinguished Travellers of an earlier period"

Bound as one volume, half-leather and maroon cloth, marbled endpapers and page edges, frontispiece and first of two title-pages are both colour lithographs, x + 959 pp plus a further 14 duotone lithographed plates and one monotone ditto.

Internally, the round-back binding and stitching are undamaged and strong, the endpapers have some end chips, the book-block is complete and sound. However, the spine cover is missing, the front cover is detached but present and the the back cover is loose. The covers are worn, but almost certainly original. There is some browning and foxing, particularly at the back and front, but there are no ownership or or other marks in what is a complete, clean and attractive book.

Better-quality or rebound copies are rare and expensive. This copy is a candidate for rebinding or specialist restoration.
