Sadly the pictorial wrapper is missing and a photogravure serves as an upper board. However, the text, other photogravures and illustrations by Special War Artists are in good condition.  Title page is grubby but intact. 84 Pages.

Contents: The Record of the War by Spencer Wilkinson. The Part Played in the Struggle by England and Wales, Ireland, Scotland, The Colonies, The Cavalry, Women, The Navy,  The Artillery, The Medical Staff.

"...a full-page portrait of Lord Roberts and groups of the most distinguished generals who took part in the South African War (1899-1 902). Amongst the photogravures are "Mafeking" and "Paardeberg", by Caton Woodville, and there is a spirited illustration of the charge of the 5th Lancers at Elandslaagte, by H. W. Koekkoek..."
