A surprisingly scarce pot-pourri of stories, tales and anecdotes, clearly produced to cash in on the craze for all things relating to the Boer War in Britain at the time. However, the Prefatory Note is dated 28 December 1900, and the scarcity of the book is likely due to it being rather less successful commercially than its author hoped, having missed the crest of the wave of enthusiasm for such books.
