The following unflattering comment has been offered

for Wack not doing enough to help the native population.

"Wack was a lawyer and author of several historical works

including this abomination - a defense of King Leopold's butchery

of the people of the Congo. He was actually a paid hack for

His Majesty though he kept that fact a secret while urging

various American business leaders to invest in the area."

There is a letter from the Royal Geographical Society in response

to an inquiry concerning H. W. Wack.
