Each volume in this Folio Society Series was derived from the best-available texts by the most authoritative writers - with all the volumes produced in a uniform style: blue slipcases, blue cloth-boards, gilt decoration to the upper panels and gilt lettering to the spines, top-edges tinted blue, blue-and-silver head- and tail-bands, plain blue endpapers, and each with several colour and other inserted plates and illustrations in the text. 

  • Vol 1. Anglo-Saxon England, by Peter Hunter Blair. Fifth printing, 1999. 364 pp of text and index. A tight-fitting slip-case has rubbed the front edge of the upper board. Otherwise complete and very good.
  • Vol 2. Early Medieval England, by M T Clanchey. Second printing 1997. 452 pp of text and index. A tight-fitting slip-case has squared up the rounded binding and the page-edges are lightly sunned. Otherwise complete and very good.
  • Vol 3. England in the Later Middle Ages, by W H Keen. Fourth Printing, 1999. 534 pp of text and index. A tight-fitting slipcase has rubbed the front edge of the upper board. Otherwise complete and very good.
  • Vol 4. England Under the Tudors, by G R Elton. Third Printing 1998. 518 pp of text and index. Complete and very good. 
  • Vol 6. England in the Eighteenth Century, by Roy Porter. Second Printing, 1999. 528 pp of text and index. Complete and very good.
  • Vol 8. Victorian England, by G M Young; introduction by Asa Briggs. Second Printing, 2001. 546 pp of text and index. Complete and very good.
  • Vol 10. England 1914-1945, by A J P Taylor; introduction by Chris Wrigley. First Printing, 2000. 638 pp of text and index. A tight-fitting slipcase has rubbed the lower front edges of both boards. Otherwise complete and very good.
