In High Dutch, "from the French and High German", the book was published in 1814 during Napoleon Bonaparte's nine-month exile on Elba. It is extremely rare, with no copies listed on AbeBooks or in Francois Bohn's extensive list of published works up to and including 1814.
Blue cloth-boards with black-on-white spine title label, 156 pp of text with a double-page map of the island as the only illustration. The boards are unrubbed and the binding is tight. Many of the leaves are wrinkled (see images). The contents are complete, otherwise undamaged, unmarked and undiscoloured.
A very good copy.
