First edition. xii, 339 pages, 24 black and white photographic plates with photogravure portrait of the author as frontispiece, colour folding map, rebound in maroon half leather titled gilt on the spine, light foxing, the page adjacent to map is browned, a good copy.

Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 - 1999, page 87 -88: The author hunted primarily in the regions near Lake Bangweulu and the Luangwa and Luapula rivers in Northeast Rhodesia. He presents the game he collected in a chapter-by-chapter analysis, and includes roan, hartebeest, puku, lechwe, sitatunga, tsessbe, sable, and eland. There are also excellent descriptions of hunting elephant, buffalo, hippo, and rhinoceros, as well as bagging lion and leopard near Lake Mweru.
