An exceptional copy of Waugh's masterpiece in the dustwrapper. The book is just about fine in the original red cloth with one or two minimal areas of barely noticeable rubbing and a totally unfaded spine. Internally crisp, fine and unmarked and more than likely unread. The front pastedown has a 3mm. vertical ridge from paper overlap (a binding fault) and this has caused a light impression on the adjacent front free endpaper and the following page - not a fault of great significance. In a nearly fine complete non price-clipped dustwrapper which has light edge wear with one or two tiny nicks and a 3mm. circular hole towards the top of the rear flap fold. There is also slight soiling of the rear panel. Please see the images provided.
Note that this is the correct first edition and NOT the Book Society issue. Very scarce in this condition.
