Placed in later plain wraps (paperback) that are without titling and a cloth spine, followed by the original outer wrap with titling printed in blue and red, followed by a list of officers under the heading "Beaconsfield Town, or Border, Guard", and 89 text pages, of which the last four are under the heading "Mr. Rhodes on the Siege", taken from the closing portion of the speech made by Rhodes at the annual meeting of De Beer's Consolidated Mines (Ltd) on Friday, February 23rd, 1900.

This item, the second edition, is just as scarce as the first edition and seldom offered for sale.

CONDITION DETAILS: The original top outer wrap with the blue and red titling has been extensively repaired by trimming off its edges and laying it on a new piece of paper. The first and last text pages have also been repaired in a similar fashion. The original bottom outer wrap is not present. There is a pen name at the top of the first text page. Page 2 has a pencil annotation in the margin. There is a bit of light scattered foxing and soiling throughout.
