Gorillas in the Mist (rare signed copy)

In addition to this one, we have found only one other signed first edition copy on the internet - $2000 for a copy of the first US edition!

This is a very good copy in a near-fine unclipped dustjacket (10.95 pounds net), complete and unmarked except for the author's signature on the title page.

Colour-photographic dustjacket with yellow lettering to the upper panel and spine and black type and photograph on the flaps. Green paper-boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Endpapers illustrated with 12 named gorillas. Monochrome illustration by Jay H Matternes as frontispiece. xxiv pp of prelims including 4 pp of family lines graphics and map + 326 pp of text, appendixes, bibliography and index, including 2 other maps in the text + 80 pp of inserted captioned photographs on art paper - of which 16 pp are in colour.

CONDITION. The copy would have been rated near fine overall without some spotting to the top page edge and white staining at the top of the upper cover board and spine (see the last image), originally undetected inside the very lightly top-edge-chipped near-fine dustjacket.
