Most of the photographs are credited to Hepburn & Jeanes. The book is dedicated to the first mayor of Grahamstown, Henry Putt. No editor, compiler or author of the preface is cited.
Original red cloth covered boards with black titling on the upper board with blind stamped decorations on both the upper and lower boards. Pale yellow end papers. Two title pages, preface, followed by 24 black and white photographic plates.
CONDITION DETAILS: This is a rarity, but the price is set low because it is not a fine copy: The binding is showing signs of age, soiling and the hinges are cracked. There is a pen name on the front free end paper, which has a tear and a few insect holes. The first title page is soiled. On two plates one letter in the titles were corrected in pen. Some signs of use throughout.
