Second issue of the Bombay Edition

The pen inscription in the front reads: "With the Author's Most Respectful Compliments". Opposite this inscription is a slip of paper with a stamp that reads "Forwarded by J.M. Richardson" with an address in London.

Dark green pebble grain cloth covered boards with a title label on the spine - lower board detached. Dark brown end papers. xviii prelims, 406 pages, large folding map, 4 plates including the frontispiece.

CONDITION DETAILS: The reserve price has been set low on this lot as it is in need of repair and there is no half title page. The binding was previously repaired with a piece of tape, but is not holding and the bottom hinge is also coming loose. An image is provided of the piece of paper stuck on the rear of the folding map to reinforce/repair it. There is scattered foxing throughout. The Bombay edition is fairly scarce, making this copy worthy of repair.
