Stephen Grover CLEVELAND (March 18, 1837 - June 24, 1908, the 22nd and 24th President of the United States). - Frances Folsom CLEVELAND Preston (July 21, 1864 - October 29, 1947, First Lady of The United States from 1893 to 1897, becoming First Lady at age 21, she remains the youngest wife of a sitting president).

2 volumes, octavo (9 3/8 x 6 ¼ inches; 238 x 158mm). 2 portrait frontispieces. Titles printed in red and black. (Some corners with light old folds).

Original blue cloth, lettered in gilt, top edges gilt (rubbed scuffed, corners bumped and damaged, repaired tear to upper cover, light old dampstaining).

Provenance: Frances Folsom Cleveland Preston (presentation inscription by Mrs. Cleveland to her son-in-law 'W.S.B. Bosanquet, / from / Frances F. Cleaveland Preston / Christmas 1923'); W. S. B. Bosanquet.  (by descent).

An important association copy: the President’s biography, 1923 issue but with 'M-X' code, presented by the First Lady to her son-in-law.
