The Game Animals of Africa

An excellent work that covers the natural history of both large and small game animals of Africa. Lydekker utilized segments of text he had written for The Great and Small Game of Africa edited by H. A. Bryden, with much new material added. It appeared in 1908 as a revised edition, and this subsequent printing in 1926 is especially interesting for its hunting vignettes related by numerous sportsmen such as Selous, Neumann, Powell-Cotton and others from books and journal articles. Original orange/tan cloth with black cloth spine, bright gilt titles. Bump to rear upper corner, also affecting the last few pages. Well illustrated with photos and drawings. Original zebra-print endpapers. Previous owner's name on 2nd free endpaper, with his tiny name stamp on the two title pages. A clean, tight copy free of foxing.
