234 pages + 4 page catalogue for the Lonsdale Library, frontispiece - the head of an elephant, with diagram of skull, 37 full-page and other illustrations of spoor and droppings, half-title page, brown cloth titled gilt on the spine, a very good copy.

The remainder of the text examines the natural history traits, and methods of hunting, species by species. The illustrations consist of sketches of the spoor of game animals, many being life-sized. An essential work aimed at a generation of new hunters visiting Africa at the time'.
