Original light blue-gray cloth covered boards with gilt titling on the spine and a coloured badge device on the upper board. Top edge gilt. xii prelims, 16 plates with 18 photographic illustrations and three sketches and maps.
CONDITION: The binding has edge wear and is faded. There are pen names on the front paste down and a small red mark on the front free end paper. The are some pencil annotations that could be of interest as there are indications that the person who wrote them was present during some of the events described. G. H. Wyllys owned the book in 1902 and his name is underlined in the index on page 249. Overall, a well used copy with scattered foxing.
