Sir Pelham "Plum" Warner (1873-1963) of Rugby School and Oriel College, played 15 matches for England including in their successful Ashes series in 1903-4. On their tour of South Africa, described here, the M.C.C. lost the Test series 1-4. Active in English cricket for decades, he was the English team Manager in the Bodyline Tour of 1932-33, Chairman of the English Test selectors, and President of the M.C.C.
