The whole interspersed with moral and religious reflections , tending to improve, as well as convince the reader of the excellency of the Christian religion: to which is added an appendix, containing the natural History of the prinicpal wild animals of those extensive regions, with anecdotes &c.

The author was stationed at the Cape from 1796 to 1801 with the Royal Artillery. Pages 21 to 57 deal with his time at the Cape.
