The Table Gong was Beautifully Crafted from 2 One Pounder Pom-Pom Shells and another Shell and Mounted on a Wooden base.

The Two Pom-Pom Shells Serve as Pillars and the other Larger Shell that is Stamped “1899 Karlsruhe” as the Bell.

The Cross Bar was Cut from a large Flattened Artillery Shell and the Heart Motive in the Center Suggest that it was in all likelihood Made for a Sweetheart.

With Turned Wooden Mallet has Brass Detailing and its Rest on the Base has Foliate Detail.

The Gong Bears No Inscription or Signature, but given the Progression of the War and the Nature of it in its Latter Stages, it can reasonably assumed that only an Anglo Soldier would have had the Time and Means to Craft this Beautiful Piece of Trench Art.
