BORDERSTRIKE
South Africa hits SWAPO bases in Angola

In May 1978, the South African Army with Air Force support made a lightening strike across the northern border of South West Africa/Namibia into Angola, where the Marxist oriented government in power had provided guerrilla bases for the revolutionary and Soviet armed South West Africa Peoples's Organization (SWAPO) led by Sam Nujoma.

It was first of many such strikes.  This one being codenamed Operation Reindeer.
