156 pages: genealogical chart, plans, maps (one on rear endpapers). Paperback.

Deals with the suburb of Oranjezicht and the problems in conserving local buildings. It was only after the first World Warended that rapid development of the suburbs immediately adjacent to the Cape Town CBD began to occur. Pentecost harks back to the days when the produce from the Oranjezicht farms helped feed Cape Town and how the development led to the cutting up and urbanisation of these properties. Privately produced this work is seldom seen.
