A fine copy in near fine dustwrapper of the first (US) edition of this Faulkner title. In the original rust coloured cloth with light green printing on the spine and unstained top edge. Nine variant cloth colours have been reported for this title, all considered first editions and priority does not seem to have been established. The most common variant is with black cloth, and all the other variants are substantially scarcer.
The copy on offer is in truly fine, unmarked and fresh condition and is probably unread. There is a small bookseller's label at the bottom of the front free endpaper. In a very nearly fine, fresh first state, unclipped dustwrapper ($2.00) which is complete but has a 1cm. closed tear along the top edge of the rear panel and slight edge wear without loss. Altogether a superior copy.
