Facsimile reprint of the 1818 edition. Limited Edition # 486 of 1000. Monochrome frontis portrait. Introduction by Frank R Bradlow. 13 Colour Plates, fold out map and numerous Black and White Illustrations. 406 pages.

The author was of the Moravian Church, and also an accomplished, musician and composer, enjoying a friendship with the composer, Haydn. In 1815 Latrobe arrived at the Cape of Good Hope and visited the Moravian Missions at Genadendal (near Greyton), George, Uitenhage and the Great Fish River. The narrative of his visit is the subject of this book.
