Good copies in the original series pebble-grained cloth. Small marks on covers front. Ink stamps on  ffep in front and rear with the word “cancelled”. Both volumes in good condition.   

Vol.I covers the surnames starting from A-E (Page 1 to 440), Vol.II covers the surnames starting from F-O (pages 441 to 879).    

A South African publishing curiosity as the first two volumes were all that were originally published. Mendelssohn states in 1909 that volume three was yet to be published, it then appeared 80 years later.     

These volumes form a section to the Annexures to the Minutes of the Council of Policy, and will be found to contain much of permanent historical interest . . .
