Two works in one volume. 8vo (132mm x 202mm x 42mm). Bound in full vellum covered boards, gilt inlaid double-line borders and two joined armorial medallions (double-head eagle and lion) to covers; black lettering and gilt decoration to spine, seven bands with inlaid gilt double-lines. Elegant binding.

Samuel Pitiscus (1637 - 1727) was a Dutch historian and classicist from Zutphen, headmaster of the Latin school in Zutphen, and editor of several works on Roman antiquities.

Condition: Overall very good. Light rubbing, discolouration and a couple of minor stains to boards and spine, slight bowing to boards. Notes in pencil to front pastedown and rear endpaper, small closed tear and spots of insect wear with holes to front endpaper. Text is clean. Solidly bound. Please also see photos.
