Original green, pressed boards with gold gilt to the front are slightly worn. The rear is lightly marked. The front board has the book plate of James Hamilton Russell. The book contains 15 pages of text and 15 plates. Each plate has 2 illustrations. 16 of the illustrations are hand-coloured. The binding is strong. The plates are bright and almost totally blemish-free.
