There is a Foreword by FH Blank and a Preface by Molly Hanley. The last section of the book details the geneology of the different family branches and descendants of the original three partners (Joseph, Thomas, and John Barry) and their integration into local South African families.

This book was compiled and written by Molly Hanley and is preserved in the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa. It details the prominent Barry family, who shaped the economic landscape of the Overberg region during the 19th century.
