1.) Gilbey, Emma - THE LADY, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF WINNIE MANDELA. Vintage, 1994 1st paperback : controversial & authoritative biography; paperback vg, bears a handwritten INSCRIPTION from WINNIE MANDELA :- to discredit the ANC "My dearest Michael, I am sorry I cannot append my signature to this gutter report of the apartheid regime which presumed to discredit the ANC through me. This rubbish was actually authored (sic) by the Security Branch of the day! But thank God! I brought them down ! My love always".

This was written at the same time as the dedication in :-

2. Bezdrob, Anne Marie du Preez - WINNIE MANDELA, A LIFE. Zebra Press 2003; hardback Fine Fine dw, SIGNED INSCRIPTION "My Love and Best Wishes. God Bless. Winnie Mandela 25.9.2009." Both books were inscribed at the same time by Winnie Mandela to Michael Jackson.

Rare signatory of the wife of Nelson Mandela.

Winnie Mandela, was a South African anti-apartheid activist and the second wife of Nelson Mandela. She served as a Member of Parliament from 1994 to 2003, and from 2009 until her death, and was a deputy minister of arts and culture from 1994 to 1996. A member of the African National Congress (ANC) political party, she served on the ANC's National Executive Committee and headed its Women's League. Madikizela-Mandela was known to her supporters as the "Mother of the Nation".
