Both books signed by the author. ‘Venture into the Interior’ is a first edition, published 1952.
Sir Laurens Jan van der Post, CBE (1906 – 1996) was a South African Afrikaner writer, farmer, soldier, educator, journalist, humanitarian, philosopher, explorer and conservationist. He was noted for his interest in Jungianism and the Kalahari Bushmen, his experiences during World War II, as well as his relationships with notable figures such as King Charles III and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Condition: Overall very good. Dust jackets have some rubbing, light edgewear, repairs to tops of spines with tape, ‘Venture into the Interior’ dust jacket has been price-clipped. Jackets have been covered with protective Brodart plastic sleeves after photos were taken. Slight shelfwear to tops and tails of spines. Small stain to front board of ‘Venture into the Interior’. Small stains to fore edges of both textblocks. Previous bookseller’s label to front pastedown of ‘The Lost World of the Kalahari’. Both books have clean texts and are well bound.
