TREASON TRIAL 1957-1961. NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS

Presented to the State President, Mr Nelson Mandela by Judge Rumpff's daughter, Irene in 1997, and signed by Mr. Mandela in October 2008 on the title page.

Signed by Irene Rumpff on the front free endpaper.

Unpaginated - 120 pages from the scrapbook of newspaper cuttings and reproduced by photocopy, red faux leather with gilt titling on the upper cover and spine, apparently a limitation certificate has been removed from the front free endpaper, a very good copy.

Irene (Rumpff), was a clerk at the trial and along with the judgement also presented Mandela with a scrapbook she had made of newspaper clippings of the trial. Irene’s scrapbook of news clippings on the trial have now been compiled into book form, but the originals were given to Mandela. Twenty-five of the books have been donated to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, which will sell them to raise funds. Copies of the judgement and the scrapbooks have also been kept by the University of Pretoria for research purposes.
