Hand-coloured frontispieces & vignettes on titles, hand-coloured plates of indigenous people, particularly of Ashanti in Africa, Boers, Hottentot huts etc. Folding maps & engraved plates. 

Binding: Small 8vo. Half calf and contemporary marbled boards with gold embossed spine. Gilded fore edges and marbled endpapers. Charming hand coloured engravings throughout.
