This lot comprises a scarce collection of copyrighted photographs from the Howick 'Local History Museum', reproduced from the original archived material before its destruction when the museum was partially destroyed by a fire in 2013. As such, these are amongst the last few (never to be reproduced from the originals again), remnants of a very important historical archive that has sadly been lost forever. Every photograph bears the museum's copyright rubber stamp on the verso with an accompanying handwritten description.

The Howick Local history museum has subsequently re opened it doors, though much of its content is now on loan from the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg.
