First edition, first issue: 196 pages, original black simulated cloth boards, gilt titling on the spine and the Heinemann embossed device on the lower board, dust jacket designed by Barry Trengrove with the price 16s Net and wider flaps, the jacket is chipped at the top and bottom of the spine and worn at the corners, stain inside at the base of spine where tape has dried and been removed – see scans below, small split at the top of the spine and back board, light toning of the page edges, a good copy.
