Portrait frontis in volume one engraved by Heath after the painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

Very good clean and crisp copies. Corners square. Previous owners names and dates "W. Anthony 1800" and "Sam. H. Anthony 1854", presumably father and son, on the title pages, otherwise very good, unmarked copies. Finely bound in contemporary brown diced calf boards with single gilt ruled border. New spines bound sympathetically to match. Decorative blind tooled compartments, ruled in gilt.. Black title labels, gilt. Original marbled endpapers. An attractive set.
