In the very scarce Dust jacket. Sunned on the spine, a small chip at the head and two small splits on the edges, Corners slightly worn. Edges lightly foxed.Minor foxing on some inside pages usually no more than 1 spot. 96 pp plus a 12 pp glossary. First state binding dark blue with gilt.Inscribed "to Estelle Starkey, with every good wish, from Hugh M’Diarmid 13.8.28"

'A Drunk Man Looks at the Thistle, is generally regarded as MacDiarmid's most famous and influential work. MacDiarmid is now considered one of the principal forces behind the Scottish Renaissance and has had a lasting impact on Scottish culture and politics.
