The very scarce first edition of this small fragile book. 12mo.(165x105mm). liv (54)pp. Introduction followed by 188pp. of further text entitled "The War of 1865 between the Free State and Basutoland and the Events Which Led to It". In the original thin printed pink paper wraps.
A remarkably well preserved copy considering the friability of the wrappers. There is slight loss at the base of the spine and the lower corners of the rear wrapper have triangular chips/defects, skilfully repaired with plain brown paper (see image). The owner's name is neatly rubber stamped on the front wrapper, the title page and on page ix. Still a very good copy.
