This is a most fascinating book. Captain Charles Johnson published a small octavo volume with the above title in 1724. Nobody knows who he was, but his facts are true. "That he was accurate, even to the smallest particular, is attested by every English or American historian who has had occasion to corroborate his stories from other sources." Language modernized and edited by Arthur L. Hayward. The upper pastedown endpaper is cracked at the upper hinge of the spine. Scuffed boards. Text in excellent condition. 603 Pages. 18 full-page plates. Bookplate of previous owner in situ.
