1965 Facsimile reprint of the 1911 edition published by Longmans Green in London.

Book bound in green synthetic leather. Dust jacket illustrated with picture of mission station. Dust Jacket in good condition though slightly edge-worn. Both front and back endpapers are slightly discoloured, otherwise the book is in Very Good condition.

Frontispiece portrait of the author in addition to the 16 pictures of mission stations taken from Wangemunn's 1868 book. A folding colour map at the back of the book showing the location of the mission stations.

The book includes the history of all the Christian missions in South Africa: Dutch and English protestants, Moravians, Wesleyan, Paris Evangelicals, Catholics, Rhenish, American, Swiss, Scottish, Hanoverian. The natural outcome of all this is a comprehensive history of the people of South Africa.
