Book plate of Lt. Colonel John Acton Brooke and a pen inscription to him from his Tutor, dated August 2, 1901.

Original full brown leather college binding with gilt titling on the spine and the Eton College device on the upper board. All edges with coloured decorations matching the marbled paper end papers. xxv prelims, 640 pages, fold out map of Eton, plates and woodcut illustrations all present.

CONDITION DETAILS: The spine is faded and there are some marks and abrasions on the binding. There is some foxing, especially at the first and last few pages, and occasionally throughout.
