Two early History books for use in schools at the time of the Union of South Africa in 1910. Note the Union Jack on both English and Afrikaans books. The Frontispiece maps are entitled "United South Africa" and "Verenigd Zuid-Afrika." The spine of the Afrikaans book is coming adrift. Stains and fading of boards on both books. Pencil doodles and names on endpapers of both. Some underlining in the Afrikaans one.
